Rep. Rick Allen: President Chooses Failed Legacy Over Will of the American People

WASHINGTON, DC--U.S. Congressman Rick Allen (R-Ga.-12) issued the following statement on the President’s veto of H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act:

“For the greater part of the Obama Administration, the President has pushed an activist agenda that is out-of-touch with the views of the American people. Today, Americans heard loud and clear that this President values protecting his own political legacy over alleviating the burden of his costly and flawed healthcare law and defending society’s most innocent—the unborn. Rather than admit fault, the President turns a blind eye and continues down his own path towards more failed policies. I support overriding this veto and it is my hope that our next President will chose to work with and not around Congress to represent the will of the people.”

H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Reconciliation Act repeals key provisions of Obamacare and defunds Planned Parenthood for one year through the budget reconciliation process. This measure passed both chambers earlier this Congress.
