Rep. Rick Allen Presented with Department of the Army Seal By Fort Gordon Military Leaders

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Rick Allen (R-Ga.-12) today met with Commanding General of the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence (Cyber CoE) at Fort Gordon, Major General Stephen Fogarty, and Command Sergeant Major Travis Cherry of the Cyber CoE.

During their meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., Maj. Gen. Fogarty, CSM Cherry, and Congressman Allen discussed ongoing missions at Cyber CoE and Fort Gordon’s critical role in protecting national defense. In addition, they spoke about recent and continued growth at Fort Gordon with the addition of U.S. Army Cyber Command Headquarters and the military installation’s positive impact in the community.

Congressman Allen was also presented with the official seal of the Department of the Army  by Major General Fogarty and Command Sergeant Major Cherry. The seal is traditionally presented by the U.S. Army to congratulate new members of Congress on their election to office. 

Congressman Allen stated, “I thank Major General Fogarty and Command Sergeant Major Cherry for their dedicated service to our nation and their leadership at Fort Gordon. Fort Gordon is an invaluable asset both to the Augusta community and the U.S. military, and it’s a tremendous honor to receive the Army’s official seal representing the values of the greatest military in the world and the men and women who serve bravely to protect our nation.”
