Allen Statement on Start of the 115th Congress


WASHINGTON, DC Today, the House gaveled in to officially mark the start of the first session of the 115th Congress. Members of the House, including Rep. Rick Allen (R-Ga.-12), took the oath of office, voted to re-elect Speaker Paul Ryan as the Speaker of the House, and approved the House rules for the 115th Congress. Rep. Allen released the following statement on beginning his second term as the representative for Georgia’s 12th Congressional District:

“First, I want to say how honored I am to have another opportunity to represent the people of Georgia-12. I am excited to hit the ground running and work with President-elect Trump, Vice President-elect Pence and the new Administration to create an America that Americans feel confident in again. We have a lot of work on our plates, and with the House’s “A Better Way” agenda, we have a guideline to tackle healthcare reform, poverty, tax reform, national security, jobs and the economy and restoring the Constitution. I am hopeful that 2017 will be a year to reroute our country and unite our citizens.”
