Rep. Rick Allen Announces 2019 Fall Internship Program

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-Ga-12) today announced his 2019 Fall Internship Program for his Washington D.C. and district offices. Applications must be submitted online at Allen.house.gov/forms/internships, with phone interviews to follow.

The Fall Internship Program offers the opportunity for high school graduates and young professionals to learn firsthand how the U.S. government and legislative process operates. Applicable candidates will cover a range of responsibilities critical to the success of a Congressional Office such as constituent input, answering phone calls, legislative writing, attending policy briefings and hearings, and much more. These internships provide a unique learning experience for young professionals to network with individuals from all walks of life, with the possibility of earning school credit.

Jane Douglas, Intern Coordinator for Congressman Allen, is available to assist with any questions or concerns from interested candidates. Jane can be reached by phone at (202)-225-2823 or by email at Jane.Douglas@mail.house.gov. For those interested in district office internships, please contact Brinsley Thigpen at (706)-228-1980 or Brinsley.Thigpen@mail.house.gov.

“Interning in a Congressional Office offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the legislative process and how our government operates,” said Congressman Allen. “Tasks and responsibilities may differ between our D.C. and district offices; however, all interns will play an integral role in carrying out the functions of our day-to-day operations while gaining experience that will help them in the future.  We practice a bottom-up approach to empower others to be the best they can be, and many of our previous interns have transitioned into a variety of very successful career paths. My staff and I look forward to welcoming these talented young professionals to Team Allen in the coming months.”
