Last week, President Trump used his authority as Commander-in-Chief and took clear, decisive action to protect American lives. By eradicating Iran’s top terrorist, Qasem Soleimani, he sent a clear message to our enemies that the Obama days of appeasement are over and America will once again stand up to terrorists.

However, I’m in disbelief that some members of Congress are finding ways to blame President Trump for the current situation with Iran. This week, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats brought forward an unconstitutional, partisan War Powers Resolution aimed at weakening President Trump at a moment our nation should be steadfast and united. I voted against this resolution, and I will continue to support President Trump and the courageous men and women who are serving overseas.

During our meeting, we were able to discuss how apprenticeship programs are providing recent graduates, veterans and job seekers with training and career opportunities.

Inaugural Flight from Augusta to D.C.
Robin and I were thrilled to take the inaugural flight from Augusta Regional Airport to our nation’s capital. This flight is a direct result of Augusta’s growth – and it will be a huge asset to our industries, Savannah River Site, Fort Gordon and growing cyber community.

Our country faces a range of national security threats, not just from the Middle East but even at our Southern Border. While the world rightfully watches Iran, there are also immigrants still trying to enter our country illegally and we must stay vigilant in the fight to secure our border.
That’s why I’m proud to cosponsor H.R.3968, the Eradicate Crossing of Illegal Tunnels Act. This bill expedites the process so our U.S. Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) agents can more quickly destroy tunnels at the border that are used for illegal crossings and the transportation of narcotics.
