This week, for the third time in our nation’s history, a President was impeached. This was, however, the first time impeachment has been entirely partisan and without merit. This charade is not because President Trump is guilty of a high crime or misdemeanor – but because one political party doesn’t like him or his policies of America first. That is not ground for impeachment. In fact, no evidence of any impeachable offence was ever brought forward throughout this secretive process.
Congressman Rick W. Allen speaks during debate on the House floor in strong opposition to impeachment.
That’s why I voted against both articles of impeachment. In all honesty, it was one of the easiest votes I’ve ever cast. I will continue to stand with President Trump and the American people.
In case anyone needed more proof this was entirely political, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has threatened to withhold sending the articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate for a trial. This is a sham and it won’t end well for Democrats.
Passing the USMCA.
I proudly supported the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which passed the House after unnecessary delay. Under this new deal, we are expected to see a major boost to our economy including over $68 billion in new economic activity, 176,000 new American jobs and over $2 billion in agriculture exports with our North American neighbors.
ICYMI: Dublin High School Wins Football State Championship.
After defeating Brooks County 42 to 32, the Fighting Irish football team brought home its first state title since 2006. Congratulations to Coach Roger Holmes and the team for a great season and much-deserved win!
2019 Year In Review.
There’s still a few weeks left before the end of the year, but I am so proud of all that my office was able to accomplish on behalf of GA-12 in 2019! If we can ever be of assistance, please reach out to any of my offices.
Wishing you Happy Holidays.
As Hanukkah begins this Sunday, I want to wish a joy-filled season to all those celebrating.
And for all those celebrating the precious birth of Jesus Christ, Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
With Christmas approaching just next week, children around the world will anxiously wait for Santa’s arrival and carefully listen for the sound of an animal they don’t normally see throughout the year - a reindeer.
While we’re looking for animals we don’t normally see, I wanted to share that I’m proud to co-sponsor H.R.5095, the Endangered Species Accountability Reform Act. This legislation would end the misuse of the endangered species list so we can better aid those truly endangered. Currently, once a species that is on the list is recovered, it is difficult to remove it from the list.
Do you have a bill that you would like to see highlighted or that you would like me to support? Share your thoughts with me! You can email me ⇒ HERE, contact any of our offices or join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Sincerely,
Rick Allen
