The past few weeks have been extremely productive, including meetings with constituents and businesses throughout Georgia’s 12th District.

It was wonderful to attend the annual Midville Field Day Lunch.
I enjoyed continued discussion on issues important to agriculture in the 12th District and the state of Georgia.
I provided a legislative update to the Toombs and Tattnall County Farm Bureaus.
I appreciate the Toombs and Tattnall County Farm Bureaus inviting me to dinner to speak about legislative issues impacting farmers in the 12th District.
I visited Modutek International’s facility in Soperton.
Modutek manufactures generator enclosures, fuel tanks, electrical equipment, and controls for the power generation industry. I appreciate them taking the time to give me an update on their work to get their Soperton facility fully operational.
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce hosted a Congressional Lunch and I was honored to lead a breakout discussion on cyber defense following the lunch.
Georgia’s 12th District continues to lead in cybersecurity. I had the opportunity to discuss the national security and economic impact of cyber defense and why this issue is important to Georgia businesses and consumers.
The 2019 Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students in Georgia’s 12th District has officially launched.
This nationwide event allows students in Georgia’s 12th to compete with their peers by creating a software application, or “app,” for web, PC, tablet, mobile, or other platform of their choice. The winning app will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website and displayed in a U.S. Capitol exhibit. I provided a congressional update at the Coastal Regional Commission meeting.
I enjoyed attending the council meeting, which includes several counties within Georgia’s 12th District, to provide an update from Washington and discuss issues impacting the Regional Commission.
I met with Florida Hardware Equipment in Soperton.
Florida Hardware manufactures gates and livestock equipment right here in Georgia and during my visit I was able to learn more about their products.
AB Beverage in Evans invited me to stop by for a visit.
During my visit to AB Beverage I was able to learn more about their operations and see firsthand how our strong economy is working in the 12th District.
The Kiwanis Club of Augusta invited me to provide an update on the work being done in Congress.
I always enjoy meeting with members of the Augusta Kiwanis Club. During my visit I was able to discuss the work being done in Congress, including my work on both the House Education and Agriculture Committees.
I stopped by Barney’s Pharmacy in Augusta.
Thanks to Barney’s for inviting me to visit and engage in great discussion. I believe there is room for bipartisan work in Congress to ensure all Americans have quality access to reliable and affordable health services while addressing the factors contributing to the rising costs of prescription drugs.
Christ Community Health in Augusta gave me an update on their services offered.
We also discussed integrated behavioral health and mandatory funding for community health centers. I look forward to continuing this important conversation.
I attended the TechNet Conference to learn more about Augusta’s critical role in the cyber domain.
During the conference, the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and industry experts discussed the future of cyber.
The Swainsboro Exchange Club invited me to share a congressional update.
I also enjoyed taking questions on important issues in the 12th District, including rural hospitals and healthcare.
I toured the Carl Vinson VA and recapped my visit with Channel 13 WMAZ.
The VA in Dublin is making great improvements as they continue to serve our veterans. Ensuring our heroes have access to quality services remains one of my top priorities.
I received the U. S. Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award at the Dublin-Laurens County Chamber After Hours event.
The Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes my work in Congress to support businesses and promote pro-growth policies.
Ryan Waldrep, the new Development Authority Director for Dublin-Laurens County, and I met for an introductory meeting.
It was great meeting for a discussion on workforce challenges in Laurens County as well as economic development in the area.
I visited Oconee Fall Line Technical College and met with new President Erica Harden.
We discussed Career and Technical Education and how we are preparing the workforce in middle Georgia.
Looking forward to another week meeting with constituents across Georgia’s 12th District.
