Every human life, from the moment of conception, is precious and worthy of dignity and respect. The right to life should not be a political debate, as a society we should be united in the understanding that killing another human being – an unborn child – is immoral and unconstitutional.
But in 1973, the Supreme Court ruled to make abortion available throughout pregnancy for nearly any reason. In the 47 years since Roe v. Wade, over 60 million lives have been taken too soon.
That’s why I’m proud to be a member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, to serve as a voice for our nation’s most vulnerable – the unborn. This week, I joined several of my colleagues on the House floor for a special order recognizing the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

ICYMI: I held a telephone town hall to answer questions from GA-12 constituents.
Telephone town halls provide an opportunity for me to receive feedback and hear directly from you. During the call, I gave an update on impeachment, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, Iran, and more. If you’d like to participate in the next one, be sure to sign up here.
Impeachment trial begins in the U.S. Senate.
After focusing solely on impeachment for nearly two months and claiming a sense of urgency, Speaker Pelosi held the articles of impeachment for nearly a month. This week Speaker Pelosi announced seven impeachment managers who sent the two articles over to the Senate. Now the Senate will have to clean up the mess House Democrats made out of this sham process.
USMCA heads to President Trump’s desk.
Over a year ago, President Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement with our neighbors to ensure more balanced, reciprocal trade. While it took too long in the House, I’m glad this week the Senate was able to pass it with bipartisan support. This is a huge win for the American people and will continue to grow our already booming economy.
Opposing H.R. 1230, the Protecting Trial Lawyers’ Paychecks Act.
This bill would benefit trial lawyers and make it harder to identify legitimate discrimination against older Americans in the workplace. I introduced an amendment that would require the Government Accountability Office to conduct a study on age discrimination and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 retaliation charges and cases. Unfortunately, House Democrats rejected my amendment.
Welcoming GA-12 residents to our nation’s Capitol!
My office was happy to give these great groups tours of the U.S. Capitol. If you’re ever in D.C. and would like to receive one, please contact my office.
This week, on January 16th, we celebrated Religious Freedom Day. Our Founding Fathers enshrined religious freedom in the First Amendment to our Constitution, and today we still must diligently guard this right. Unfortunately, in many places around the world people of faith are persecuted simply for living their lives in accordance with their deeply held beliefs.
According to the Pew Research Center, Christians remain the most persecuted religious group in the world. That’s why I’m proud to cosponsor H.Res. 640, Condemning the global persecution of Christians. This bill condemns persecution of members of any faith, calls for every government to recognize the right of Christians to practice their faith without fear of persecution, and calls on the Department of State to prioritize freedom of conscience and religious freedom in United States foreign policy consideration.
Do you have a bill that you would like to see highlighted or that you would like me to support? Share your thoughts with me! You can email me ⇒ HERE, contact any of our offices or join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Sincerely,
Rick Allen
