promoting the dignity of work

This week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a final rule to promote work among recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) who are able-bodied without dependents.

The 2018 Farm Bill that I worked on and was ultimately passed in the 115th Congress laid the groundwork for this monumental action. As a small businessman, I am most proud of providing Americans with the dignity and respect that comes with a good job—and this rule provides a path to work instead of government dependence, and will save taxpayers $5.5 billion over five years. I applaud President Trump and my fellow Georgian, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, for helping able-bodied adults without dependents get back to work.

More information on the final rule is available here.

Cracking down on robocalls and spoofing.

Congressman Rick W. Allen speaks during debate on the House floor in support of the TRACED Act, which passed the House with bipartisan support. Robocalls should not be a part of our everyday lives.

House Democrats continue with partisan impeachment sham.

Speaker Pelosi instructed House Democrats to proceed with articles of impeachment, despite no evidence of any high crime or misdemeanor. This process is distracting Congress from issues the American people care about, like the USMCA, securing our border and funding our military.

Community pharmacies provide seniors with reliable and affordable prescriptions that they often depend on. As your member of Congress, I have long been committed to both lowering prescription drug prices and fighting for Georgia community pharmacies.

That’s why I’m proud to cosponsor H.R.4946, the Ensuring Seniors Access to Local Pharmacies Act. This bill would amend the Social Security Act so that Medicare recipients in underserved areas have access to community pharmacies.
