This week in Georgia-12...
.
After a long few weeks in Washington, I was thrilled to get back to Georgia’s 12th district for the district work week. I started the week off in Statesboro where I was able to attend the Bulloch County Commission Meeting.

After leaving Statesboro, I traveled to Swainsboro to visit with the Swainsboro Exchange Club to give them an update on my work in Washington.

They also celebrated New Member Day. Congratulations to all the newest members!

I took a tour of LanzaTech Freedom Pines Biorefinery in Soperton.

I received an overview of LanzaTech’s developments and recent activities, including the production of jet fuel and preparations for the ARPA-E Micro-Bubble Bioreactor Project. Thanks for having me!

I also stopped by Gillis Ag and Timber while in Soperton.

Then I headed to Baxley and visited Tri-County Chiropractic Clinic where they held the Baxley-Appling County Chamber Business After Hours event.

Thanks for having me!

I started the next morning off in Claxton where I sat down for a quick breakfast with some great people from the area, including Mayor Terry Branch.

Then I traveled to Reidsville where I had the opportunity to learn more about Rotary Corporation and tour their new facility.

I am thrilled to see the new jobs that they have brought to Reidsville and the positive impact that tax reform is having on their business!

I visited the Glenville Rotary Club meeting where I gave an update on my work in Washington.

I also stopped by the local Dairy Queen in Glenville to discuss tax reform with some familiar faces.

Then I traveled to Hazlehurst to visit Jeff Davis Hospital for a tour and update from hospital administrators.

Thank you for the tremendous work you do for our community!

I also visited the Hazlehurst Airport and learned about recent updates and renovations. Thanks for showing me around!

I had a great conversation with local business owners from Coffee County about how tax reform is benefitting their businesses. They even updated me on some very exciting expansion plans in their community.

I also attended and gave remarks at a joint meeting with the Douglas Rotary and Exchange Clubs.

It was great to see so many familiar faces and give an update on what is coming up in Washington.

This week we also suffered the loss of a true American hero. Rev. Billy Graham will be brought to the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Wednesday, February 28 and will lie in honor until Thursday, March 1. Members of the public are welcome to attend and pay their respects to the late Rev. Graham.

Rev. Billy Graham was a true man of God and will forever be remembered for the impact he had on so many lives. In today’s day and age, we need more folks like Rev. Graham, who inspired so many to keep faith at the center of our world and in our hearts. To lie in honor at the U.S. Capitol is a tremendous tribute to Rev. Graham’s legacy and his devout faith that he spread across the world. Please keep the family, friends, and loved ones of Rev. Graham in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve the loss of an American icon.
