Unleashing American Energy in GA-12

.

On Monday, I visited Plant Vogtle alongside Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Chairman, Jeff Duncan (SC-03) to take a firsthand look at Vogtle Units 3 and 4, which will be the first new nuclear reactors to come online in the United States in over three decades.

Here in Georgia’s 12th District, we are the tip of the spear in the push for clean, reliable nuclear power. Our country needs a comprehensive, all-of-the-above approach to lowering energy costs for American families, and I am proud the 12th District is playing such a pivotal role in unleashing our nuclear energy capabilities.

I look forward to continuing my work on the Energy and Commerce Committee to advance nuclear energy legislation.

Preserving the Full Faith and Credit of the United States

.

Since Inauguration Day, President Biden and Washington Democrats have passed nearly $5 trillion in new spending, which has contributed to historic inflation that is hurting every American. One of my top priorities during my time in Congress is to put America on the path towards fiscal responsibility and rein in out-of-control government spending.

That is why I voted to pass the Limit, Save, Grow Act. This common sense legislation would rein in federal spending, defund Green New Deal priorities and Biden’s IRS army, and jumpstart domestic energy production to offset an increase to our nation's debt limit.

My Republican colleagues and I are committed to restoring fiscal responsibility to the federal government. We must get our country back on a responsible spending plan that will reduce our debt, and address our fiscal challenges for future generations.

Supporting Our Farmers

.

I recently sat down with Al Hackle from the Statesboro Herald to talk about the BARN Act, legislation I introduced that would reform and strengthen the federal H-2A visa program.

Modernizing America's Labor Laws

.

This week, I spoke on the House Floor about the Employee Rights Act, legislation I introduced with Senator Tim Scott that updates our nation's labor laws by expanding necessary workforce protections for independent contractors, franchisees, entrepreneurs, and anyone seeking flexible work options.

As a businessman, I know our workforce is constantly evolving. We need creative, forward-thinking legislation that gives workers and small business owners both stability and flexibility.
