I attended the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie.
I had the opportunity to hear from local farmers at the Sunbelt Ag Expo. Their first-hand knowledge of the industry that works to feed and clothe our nation is vital to creating a Farm Bill that works.
I also joined my House Agriculture Committee colleagues for a Farm Bill listening session.
Along with my House Agriculture Committee colleagues Rep. Austin Scott and Rep Al Lawson Jr. we had a great discussion about which programs are working for our farmers, and which need to be changed. Thank you to everyone who joined this important discussion!
Chicken of the Sea gave me a tour of their facility in Lyons
I attended the Cyber Georgia Summit last week at Augusta University.
Augusta is at the forefront of Cyber innovation in our nation, and I thank Augusta University for investing in our future cyber workforce.
I hosted three higher education roundtables this week with various administrators from across the district.
I’ve spent time with educators and higher education administrators across GA-12, and let me tell you they do some great work for Georgia students. But boy, do they have challenges with the federal government. I hear it over and over again when I meet with folks across GA-12 – the federal government is slow, bureaucratic, overly burdensome, and we sure have our work cut out for us as we begin drafting the Higher Education Reauthorization Act this fall.
I celebrated Georgia Pre-K Week with students at the Childcare Network.
I visited Barney’s Pharmacy in Augusta where they were celebrating customer appreciation day!
While in Augusta, I also toured HealthSouth Walton Rehabilitation Hospital.
