this week in washington...

As a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, I participated in a legislative hearing on the
joint employer standard, which has hurt many franchisees in my district.

On Thursday, the House passed the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act.

This legislation strengthens law enforcement’s ability to ensure that criminal alien gang members are not allowed in, deported quickly if they are here and not allowed to enter the U.S. again.

I also spoke about Hurricane Irma on the House Floor, “America is resilient, the American people are resilient when we come together as one - and now we must assess the damage and rebuild our communities."

From the bottom of my heart, thank you again to our first responders. If you need any help with federal assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, please do not hesitate to reach out to my offices:

This week the House continued to work hard for the American people by passing the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act

I had the opportunity to meet with air traffic controllers to discuss FAA Reauthorization.

I also had a chance to speak with cotton growers to begin talking about their legislative priorities.

In fact, next week I will be in the district, meeting with local farmers to get their input on the upcoming reauthorization of the Farm Bill!
