After 30 years with no major changes to our tax code – we are closer than ever to making tax reform a reality for families and businesses across America.
The Senate passed their version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – now it is time to work together to get the best version of this legislation on President Trump’s desk.
I had the opportunity to participate in a House Education and the Workforce Committee hearing on the financial challenges facing multi-employer pension plans.
In the House, we passed important legislation requiring each Member, officer, and employee of the House of Representatives to complete a program of training in workplace rights and responsibilities.
The House Education and Workforce Committee also introduced the Promoting Real Opportunity, Success and Prosperity through Education Reform (PROSPER) Act to reform higher education and prepare students to enter the workforce.
Please click here for my full statement on introduction of the PROSPER Act.
We also passed the Ensuring a Qualified Civil Service Act, which reforms a portion of civil service employment.
