Roundtable with the Georgia Municipal Association

.

Earlier this week, our team traveled to Twin City, where we caught up with local leaders and members of the Georgia Municipal Association and shared an update on what's happening in Washington. As your Congressman, I am proud to work with state and local partners to help our communities thrive.

Speaking at the Swainsboro Rotary Club

.

I also joined the Swainsboro Rotary Club for its meeting on Monday, where I spoke to members about the major issues we face as a nation.

Discussing rural broadband with Altamaha EMC

.

Expanding access to broadband internet has long been among my top priorities in Congress.

While in Soperton this week, I caught up with Altamaha EMC to hear about their efforts to bring reliable, high-speed internet to more families in our district through the USDA ReConnect Program. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I will keep working to increase internet access in rural communities, both in our district and nationwide.

Honoring local Air Force JROTC students

.

Effingham County High School’s Air Force JROTC program has been recognized as a “Distinguished Unit.” This honor is reserved for the top ten percent of programs, and I was proud to congratulate the cadets during a ceremony this week.

On Tuesday, I presented Letters of Commendation to Unit GA-938, recognizing them for their outstanding work and impressive record of community service.

Augusta University opens new Literacy Center

.

I recently attended the grand opening of Augusta University’s new Literacy Center and was proud to donate over 200 books from the Library of Congress to support their efforts.

I am grateful to be able to do my part to support reading in our community and improve childhood literacy!

Meeting with Dr. John Gerguis

.

In Statesboro, I met with Dr. John Gerguis, a family physician and member of the Georgia Academy of Family Medicine. During our meeting, we spoke about the group’s work to promote patient-centered, preventative care that helps more Georgians lead healthy lives.

My Republican colleagues and I are committed to improving health care by increasing patient choice, growing competition and ensuring price transparency.

Visiting Rolling Monkey Ice Cream

.

While in Statesboro, I stopped by Rolling Monkey Ice Cream and took a tour of the facilities! Afterwards, we talked about issues like inflation that are currently affecting small businesses.

As a small business owner for over 30 years, I know how important entrepreneurship is when it comes to growing our economy and creating jobs. I will continue fighting for policies that will get the government out of the way and enable our small businesses to flourish.

Cingo/National Pest Management Association

.

I met with representatives from Cingo in Dublin, where I toured the facilities and discussed how federal regulations are impacting the pest control industry.

I understand the burdens that over-regulation places on businesses and believe that Congress should work to reduce sweeping federal mandates that impede job growth.

Catching up with Laurens County Sheriff Larry Dean

.

It was great to meet with Laurens County Sheriff Larry Dean and get an overview of his department's ongoing efforts to keep our community safe.

As your Congressman, I am proud to stand with our law enforcement officers who selflessly serve our communities every day.
