My Week Serving Georgia's 12th District...

We celebrated National Police Week and I would like to thank all of our brave law enforcement officers across Georgia-12 and the nation for putting their lives on the line to ensure our safety.

The House of Representatives passed numerous pieces of legislation this week to support the work of law enforcement in America!

We also recognized Israel’s 70th Independence Day with the opening of the U.S. Embassy in the holy city of Jerusalem.

Israel exemplifies the core values of freedom and democracy and I am proud to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel!

I met with Mayor Phil Best from Dublin, as well as the Georgia Association of Realtors to discuss some of the issues most pressing to them.

Thanks for stopping by the office!

I joined fellow members of the House Education and Workforce Committee on the House floor to highlight the importance of workforce development in America.

With over 6 million available jobs in our country, getting Americans back to work is more important now than ever!

The House Education and Workforce Committee also held a full committee hearing on “Protecting Privacy, Promoting Data Security: Exploring How Schools and States Keep Data Safe,” and the subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions held a hearing on “Enhancing Retirement Security: Examining Proposals to Simplify and Modernize Retirement Plan Administration.”

Unfortunately, the House of Representatives failed to garner the required support to pass the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, better known as the Farm Bill. See my thoughts below.

Due to procedural motions, the House of Representatives may reconsider the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 at a later date.

Additionally, my office will be holding Community Office Hours in the month of June.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the senseless tragedy that occurred today at a local high school in Santa Fe, Texas. Please join me in praying for all of the victims, their families, and loved ones during this time of loss. I agree with the President that we must protect our students and schools.

Sincerely,
