Leading the Fight Against Biden's Vaccine Mandate in SCOTUS Cases On Friday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments as it considers the Biden Administration’s top-down Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) requiring private employers with over 100 employees to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly testing before coming to work. I’m proud to have joined House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, House Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx, Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks, and Senator Mike Braun in leading over 130 Representatives and over 40 Senators in filing an amicus brief to SCOTUS highlighting that Congress did not give OSHA the authority to impose a vaccine mandate. OSHA is not a public health agency, and I look forward to a swift decision from the Court. You can read our full brief here.

Leading the Fight Against Biden's Vaccine Mandate in SCOTUS Cases

On Friday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments as it considers the Biden Administration’s top-down Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) requiring private employers with over 100 employees to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly testing before coming to work.

In Case You Missed It:

I joined John Bachman on Newsmax to discuss the brief and more. It’s become clear that liberals are using COVID-19 as an excuse to abuse political power.

Honoring the Life of Senator Johnny Isakson

On December 19, 2021, America lost a true statesman. Senator Johnny Isakson was able to achieve so much throughout his career because he always put the interests of Georgians first and never backed down in his pursuit to deliver results. I’m thankful to be counted among his “friends and future friends,” and especially cherish the time we spent together working on legislation to help our nation’s students and teachers.

Sen. Isakson

Last week, as we said our goodbyes, you could see just how much he was respected by all who knew him. The service included several beautiful tributes to this great Georgian, and you can watch the service here.

Visiting Vidalia

Vidalia Library Groundbreaking

It was an honor to attend the groundbreaking ceremony as the Vidalia-Toombs County library begins construction on its new home. This is great news for the community and all the families who will benefit!

Vidalia Chamber

Thanks to the Vidalia Chamber for inviting me to their annual legislative luncheon and providing me the opportunity to share a brief update, including on our workforce, education and restoring America’s energy independence.

The Biden Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services is pushing a universal masking requirement for all individuals in a Head Start facility above the age of two, including all staff, volunteers, and contractors. Head Start is a federal government program that provides qualifying, low-income children with early education services. Head Start is also requiring toddlers to wear masks while they are outside on the playground, and mandate staff and volunteers to be vaccinated by January 31, 2022.

We know that masking may be detrimental to early childhood development, and this is just the latest example of government overreach. That’s why I’m proud to cosponsor H.R. 6312, the Preventing Mandates on Toddlers Act. This bicameral legislation would nullify the Biden Administration’s interim final rule.
