I started last week in the district where I was able to attend the Olde Effingham Day Festival and the Waynesboro Car Show.
I also joined Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. at the unveiling of a Purple Heart Recipient Parking Space at the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building.
Congratulations to our Purple Heart recipients on this well-deserved award!
In Washington, my colleagues and I gathered at the U.S. Capitol to hear President Macron of France give an address to a Joint Session of Congress.
His remarks were full of passion and we will continue to build a strong relationship with France as a powerful ally!
The House also passed a 5-year authorization of the Federal Aviation Administration, which included provisions to help communities lessen the impacts of future disasters by investing in pre-disaster mitigation.
I was proud to cast my vote in support of this legislation to continue improving the safety of our aviation system!
I had great meetings with the Georgia Bankers Association and the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities to discuss some of the issues most pressing to them and how I can help at the federal level.
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you will join me in congratulating Stallings Island Middle School and Lakeside High School on their performance at this year’s National Science Bowl competition.
You made us all in Georgia-12 very proud!
Yesterday was also National Drug Take Back Day and I hope you were able to get involved and visit one of the multiple locations in Georgia-12 that served as collection sites to safely dispose of unwanted prescription drugs anonymously.
Together, we can make meaningful progress to combat the opioid crisis in America.
I am looking forward to getting back to the district next week and I hope you’ve all had a great weekend!
