Democrats Prioritize Tigers and
Marijuana Over Small Businesses

Small businesses have been amongst the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Yelp, some 60 percent of all U.S. businesses that have closed during the pandemic have not reopened.

While we were able to deliver some vital relief under the Paycheck Protection Program, there remains $138 billion in unused funds. Instead of working on targeted relief legislation to extend the program – or any bipartisan legislation related to addressing the coronavirus -- this week, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats brought forward legislation related to legalizing marijuana and exotic animal protection. Seriously – you can’t make this stuff up!

>> As a reminder, Pelosi and her party have blocked efforts to extend PPP over 40 times.

I will continue to fight for urgent small business assistance. As businesses struggle in the midst of uncertainty, they should be our top priority in Congress – not marijuana and tigers.

2020 Year in Review

2020 has been full of challenges; but with each new challenge we have an opportunity to adapt, grow and overcome. Through it all, my office has never stopped working for you! I’m proud to share these stats on how we’ve served the 12th District this year.

Ensuring the Integrity of the 2020 Election

On November 6th, I joined 38 of my colleagues in asking Attorney General Barr to use all
U.S. Department of Justice resources to ensure the integrity of the 2020 election. If the DOJ has launched any investigative activity into election fraud, it has not been made public – and the American people deserve transparency and confidence in our election process. That’s why 37 of us have followed up in a new letter demanding action now.

Included in the letter: “Notably, in Georgia where officials will be preparing for the Senate runoff election, it is important that election materials, including voting machines, be preserved for analysis.”

You can read our full letter here.

Holding China Accountable for COVID-19 Pandemic

A new report reveals more info on how the Chinese Communist Party falsified data and hid an earlier outbreak. The CCP must be held accountable for allowing COVID-19 to turn into a global pandemic! If they had been truthful, countless lives could have been saved.

Dublin City Schools Hits Record Graduation Rate

Congressman Allen and Superintendent Dr. Fred Williams during a visit to Dublin City Schools in October 2020.

Despite the pandemic hitting in the middle of the spring semester, Dublin City Schools had its highest graduation rate in 2020 at 94%! This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication from the students, teachers and staff.

New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam Update

ICYMI: The United States District Court for South Carolina ordered in favor of the State of South Carolina and the City of Augusta in the case against the Savannah District Army Corps of Engineers regarding their proposed plan to remove the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam and move forward with a rock weir that would not maintain the current pool of water.

This ruling states what I've been saying all along: Maintaining the pool means adhering to the pool level on the date of the WIIN Act's enactment -- 114.5 ft. Our Congressional delegation and local leaders have worked tirelessly on this issue and I am very encouraged by this news. I look forward to continue working toward a solution that is best for our community.

The most basic responsibility of government is to keep the American people safe. While crime rates continued to rise and violent criminals threatened the lives and livelihoods of Americans through riots and looting, liberals pushed their dangerous and misguided call to defund the police.

That’s why I co-sponsored H.R. 13, the Commitment to American Security Act. This legislation would increase funding for local police to provide the best training and 500,000 body cameras for better transparency, accountability and performance. Additionally, it includes nearly 40 provisions to protect the homeland by strengthening our border security, cyber security, and transportation security.

As always, my office is here to help. You can email me ⇒ HERE, contact any of our offices or join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram

Sincerely,

Rick Allen
