This Week Serving Georgia's 12th District

I spoke on the House floor against Speaker Pelosi’s radical, partisan prescription drug pricing plan that would impose a one-size-fits-all government takeover of healthcare.

This week, the House Education and Labor Committee marked-up H.R. 3, Speaker Pelosi’s bill. I introduced an amendment that would prevent outsourcing of investment in biotechnology or American manufacturing jobs to China—where quality control problems and tainted drug-supply issues could put Americans who depend on these drugs at greater risk. Unfortunately, my amendment to protect American workers and families was not adopted. Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats should work with Republicans and President Trump on bipartisan legislation to actually lower costs.

I held a Telephone Town Hall, which allows me to connect with thousands of people across the district to answer their questions. I gave an update on the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, disaster assistance, the United-States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, Social Security Administration’s increase in the cost of living adjustment for 2020, and more.

If you would like to be contacted for every telephone town hall I conduct, please sign up on the website at allen.house.gov/live

I met with Phil Alexander of the Faith and Freedom Coalition.

During the meeting, I received an update on the work they’re doing to protect people of faith.

My office gave Capitol tours to the Bland family and Linda Blanchard and Mary Byrd.

If you’re ever in D.C. and would like to receive a Capitol tour, please contact my office or access the tour request form here.

Since the day Speaker Pelosi announced House Democrats would launch an impeachment inquiry into President Trump, this process has been rushed, secretive and it breaks with House precedent. Speaker Pelosi empowered Adam Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, to issue subpoenas and hold closed door meetings. By cherry-picking what information to leak, the Democrats are pushing a narrative, regardless of facts.

I am disappointed with how this entire process has played out, and I am extremely frustrated that Mr. Schiff has used his position as chairman to mislead the American people on numerous occasions. That’s why I am proud to co-sponsor H. Res. 630 – a resolution to censure Adam Schiff. We cannot allow for false or misleading information to be entered into the official record or in an effort to sway public opinion.

Do you have a bill that you would like to see highlighted or that you would like me to support? Share your thoughts with me! You can email me ⇒ HERE, contact any of our offices or join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Sincerely,

Rick Allen
