Washington County

At Brentwood School in Sandersville, I presented Kessler Ann Bibb, McFerrin Dean Bibb, and Mary Thomas Smith with the Congressional Award, the highest honor Congress presents to America's youth.

Jefferson County

Meeting with Jefferson County Captain Robert Chalker and Chief Deputy Tim Moore, Glascock County Sheriff Jeremy Kelley, Jenkins County Sheriff Robert Oglesby, and Deputy Wesley Aaron in Wrens. We cannot have freedom without safety, and we cannot have safety without the men and women willing to defend it. Every shift, every call, every sacrifice matters.

Laurens County

I was invited to offer the invocation at a meeting of the Dublin Exchange Club. I enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces and hearing a few updates from community leaders.

Hearing from local officials is an important way to stay informed about what is going on in 12th District communities. I appreciate Laurens County Administrator Bryan Rogers for taking the time to meet with me.

Toombs County

On Monday, I spoke at the annual Toombs, Tattnall, and Evans Counties Farm Bureau legislative dinner—this year hosted by Toombs County in Lyons. I provided an update on the House-passed Farm Bill, EFRP funding, and legislation to modernize the H-2A visa program.

Richmond County

Apparo Academy in Augusta is enhancing the quality of life for children with disabilities. Their life-changing work has been an immense blessing to many families, including mine. Last week, I was grateful for the opportunity to see the new kindergarten classroom and speak with several staff members about their work to ensure all children succeed.

McDuffie County

Stopped by Thomson Drug Company to meet with owners Bryce Allfrey and Ben Ross. We discussed some of the challenges facing independent pharmacies in the 12th District and legislation I've introduced to rein in pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).

Emanuel County

Meeting with Ken Warnock, CEO of the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce. My office is assisting Emanuel County with a case involving the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and we hope to deliver a positive outcome as soon as possible.

Evans County

In Claxton, I toured the new terminal at the Claxton-Evans County Airport with Airport Director Caughey Hern. Thanks for having me!

September Community Office Hours

On Thursday, I announced the dates, times, and locations for September Community Office Hours. During these events, members of my staff will be available to assist constituents with a variety of federal issues, including help navigating various federal agencies such as FEMA, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Medicare, and others.

If you need assistance dealing with a federal agency, our dedicated caseworkers stand ready to help you. Reminder: these office hours are not held in counties where I have a permanent office. For more details, visit my website.

This Week's White House Highlight

Earlier this week, the Trump Administration announced that a $93.3 million investment is being delivered to help rural hospitals advance new state-of-the-art models of care and improve health outcomes for Georgians through the federal Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).

I was proud to support the Working Families Tax Cuts which made this historic investment in rural Georgia possible, which will help expand coordinated statewide care, strengthen the rural health workforce, and support technology-enabled healthcare access.

More specifically, this investment will help 87 rural hospitals prepare for value-based care, expand training and recruitment for nurses, EMTs and paramedics, and improve access to maternal and behavioral health services, newborn screening, and other critical health services through telehealth, transportation and expanded care networks. It will also bring next-generation technology to rural communities—including surgical robotics, dementia care capacity, and telehealth infrastructure—to modernize care.
