80 Years Later: Remembering D-Day
|
This photograph is bravery personified. Today, on the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, we honor our fallen heroes who landed on the beaches of Normandy in a fight against tyranny. Now and always, we remember their courage and sacrifice as they carried out the largest seaborne invasion in history so that we may live free.

Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4 Expansion Ceremony
|
Last week, I was honored to speak at the Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4 nuclear expansion ceremony. Since being elected to Congress, I have visited Plant Vogtle on several occasions to witness various stages of progress throughout the Unit 3 and Unit 4 construction process. This project has been years in the making, and I was proud to celebrate its successful completion—making Plant Vogtle the largest nuclear power station in the country.
These new units will provide energy security for Georgia homes and businesses for decades to come, and I commend Southern Company, Oglethorpe Power, MEAG Power, and Dalton Utilities for their commitment to ensuring America's nuclear future starts in the 12th District of Georgia.

Supporting America's Military and Veterans
|
This week, House Republicans passed H.R. 8580, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2025, with my support. H.R. 8580 will fully fund veterans’ health care programs, veterans' benefits, and VA programs.

Commemorating Jerusalem Day
|
This week, House Republicans commemorated Jerusalem Day, marking the city's reunification, the renewal of worship at its Holy sites for all faiths, and the restoration of Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel. It took 70 years for the U.S. to recognize this, a milestone achieved by President Trump when he opened our Embassy in Jerusalem on May 14, 2018.
House Republicans will not waver in our ironclad support for our ally Israel.
Additionally, in support of Israel, the House passed H.R. 8282, the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act. This legislation would impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court and any foreign actor who supports their effort to arrest, detain, or prosecute protected persons of the United States and its allies, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

One of the best ways for me to serve you in Congress is by hearing your thoughts and concerns. Throughout the year, I host live Telephone Town Hall meetings to connect with constituents throughout the 12th District.
These meetings are similar to a traditional town hall meeting but are conducted by phone, where you can dial in from the comfort of your own home. The meetings typically last around one hour, with time for you to ask questions, hear live answers, and participate in a number of poll questions that will aid my decision-making in Washington.

This Week's Committee Activity

Energy and Commerce
Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee Hearing
“Powering AI: Examining America’s Energy and Technology Future”
Artificial intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly growing our electricity needs across the nation. During this hearing, I highlighted how nuclear energy can play a critical role in ensuring grid security and stability as Georgia continues to attract manufacturing and data centers. With the recent completion of the Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4 expansion project, the 12th District is at the tip of the spear when it comes to meeting America's energy and electricity needs.
Watch my remarks HERE.
Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Hearing
"Oversight of the 340B Drug Pricing Program"
During this hearing, I asked our witnesses about how this program affects rural health centers and ways to improve the program to ensure access to needed medications.
