Responsibly Funding the Government

This week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6500, with my support, to avoid a harmful government shutdown and responsibly fund the government through December 11th. No poison pills. No partisan politics. No gimmicks. No radical spending sprees.
Good government should provide certainty, deliver where it matters, and get out of the American people’s way. This legislation allows Congress to continue our work on full-year appropriations bills as our Founders intended. |
Denouncing Socialism in all its Forms
|
Denouncing socialism should be a no-brainer. But not for today’s Democratic Party. On Tuesday, the House also passed H. Res. 1490, which states that the House of Representatives condemns and denounces socialism in all its forms, reaffirms support for free, fair, and secure elections, reiterates that American elections are for American citizens only, and recommits itself to upholding the U.S. Constitution.
192 House Democrats voted against this—a shocking revelation of how radical today's left has become. Socialism replaces freedom with control, ownership with dependence, and equal rights with forced outcomes.
It replaces the American Dream with a government permission slip. We have a duty to call out socialism for what it is. Socialism always starts with a promise and ends with government taking more control. A promise of lower prices does not repeal economics. Price controls discourage production, shrink supply, and leave everyone competing for fewer goods or homes.
America will not survive another 250 years by copying the ideologies that destroyed every society they touched. |
Deadline Approaching for Military Academy Nominations

It is a distinct privilege of mine to be able to nominate a limited number of young people from the 12th District of Georgia to attend four of the five Service Academies.
To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements and be nominated by an authorized person, including a member of the United States House of Representatives or United States Senate.
To apply for a nomination to a service academy through my office, please do so by Friday, October, 16, 2026 at 5:00 PM. More information can be found HERE. |

September Community Office Hours begin tomorrow in Burke County! During these events, members of my staff will be available to assist constituents with a variety of federal issues, including help navigating various federal agencies such as FEMA, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Medicare, and others.

This Week's White House Highlight

President Trump has secured the biggest oil deal in world history, delivering U.S. majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela – vastly expanding our current U.S. territorial proven reserves of roughly 46 billion barrels.
This deal greatly increases America’s oil reserves, dramatically bolsters our oil supply, and will help deliver lower gas prices for the American people—costing taxpayers nothing!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: - This deal secures our energy dominance for the next century—all at zero cost to the United States.
- Millions of barrels of new Venezuelan output will be processed through U.S. refineries and pumped with American rigs and infrastructure, supporting billions in investment in the United States and thousands of jobs here at home.
- The majority of the incremental oil fields to be operated by NABEP were previously controlled or operated by Russian and Chinese firms, or by corrupt cronies of Maduro and Chavez. These malign foreign actors looted Venezuela’s resources for the benefit of American adversaries like Cuba, Russia and China and failed to invest in Venezuela’s infrastructure or development.
- President Trump has re-established the Monroe Doctrine, purging foreign malign influence from our backyard and ensuring American dominance in our hemisphere is never again questioned.
- By working with both new and old partners, President Trump’s Administration is forging new robust, strategic and defensible supply chains in our hemisphere to support the revitalization of our manufacturing and energy sectors after years of globalist decline.
