Telephone Town Hall

.

This week, I held my first telephone town hall of the new year and answered questions from residents across Georgia's 12th District. During the call, I gave an update on inflation, the southern border crisis, and legislation I have introduced so far in the 118th Congress.

Rest assured, House Republicans are committed to advancing policies that will make it easier to earn a living, provide for our families, save for the future, and set our children and grandchildren up for success.

State of the Union

.

On Tuesday, I joined my colleagues to hear the president deliver his State of the Union address. Unfortunately, I didn’t hear a plan on how the president plans to fix any of the crises he created.

Seven in ten Americans now believe that the United States is on the wrong track, and instead of failing to address the four million illegal border crossings, 6.5 percent inflation, and a more than 40 percent hike in gas prices, President Biden should have committed to working with the new House Republican majority to get America back on the right track. However, I remain optimistic that we can work together to solve these pressing issues; the American people are depending on it.

Standing Up to China

.

The House of Representatives voted unanimously to pass H.Res. 104, Condemning the Chinese Communist Party's use of a high-altitude surveillance balloon over United States territory as a brazen violation of United States sovereignty.

It is clear that the Chinese are testing this administration to see what they can get away with. Rest assured, the new House Republican majority will stand tall against the CCP’s malign influence and defend America’s interests.

.

I also visited Murphey Middle School in Augusta, where the students are participating in the Capitol Hill Challenge and learning valuable lessons about financial literacy.
