President Trump Delivers a Joint Address to Congress
|
I was honored to be on the House floor for President Donald J. Trump's first Joint Address to Congress during his second term in the White House. President Trump is already making good on his promises to the American people. In less than two months, this administration has reversed the many failures of President Biden and laid the groundwork for the New Golden Age of America.
As he highlighted in his speech, the President is bringing common sense back to Washington. From securing our border and reclaiming energy dominance to making America more competitive and restoring accountability in the federal government—this is just the beginning of a historic new era of American strength. Illegal border crossings are at record lows, criminal illegal aliens are being deported, regulations are being slashed, hundreds of billions of dollars in new investments have been secured, we are respected on the world stage, and taxpayers are no longer funding endless and unnecessary spending.
77 million Americans wanted a transformational change in Washington, D.C. I will continue to work in lockstep with the administration to deliver President Trump's full agenda and renew the American Dream.

Overturning Biden's Energy Regulations
|
Alongside President Trump, House Republicans are on a mission to reclaim American energy dominance – which means continuing to eliminate President Biden’s burdensome energy regulations that have limited consumer choice. The House passed H. J. Res. 42, with my support, which overturns a finalized Biden-era rule that imposes unnecessary and duplicative labeling, certifying, and reporting requirements for various appliances and commercial equipment. Under the Biden-Harris Administration alone, the DOE implemented more than 30 appliance and equipment efficiency rules at a cost of $60 billion.
This is part of a broken system that needs major reforms, and the American people are DONE paying for it with higher costs for at-home appliances. Watch my speech on the House floor HERE.

Attending the 246th Anniversary of the Battle of Brier Creek
|
I was blessed to attend the 246th Anniversary of the Battle of Brier Creek in Sylvania. John 15:13 says, "Greater love hath no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." We will always remember the brave patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice defending the freedoms we hold dear. May God bless the souls of our fallen heroes, our veterans, the state of Georgia, and the United States of America.

This Week's White House Highlight
|
REMINDER: With President Trump back in the White House, we are excited to add a new feature to the newsletter! Each week, I will highlight an executive action, announcement, rulemaking, bill signing, or any other activity from the Trump Administration to keep you well-informed on what's happening in Washington.
As I mentioned earlier, President Trump delivered bold, forward-looking remarks before a Joint Session of Congress this week, highlighting a long list of accomplishments in just the first six weeks of his administration. Unfortunately, Congressional Democrats who are consumed by their hatred of President Trump, refused to show support for many inspiring moments of the speech and what should be bipartisan issues. Here are a few things Democrats chose not to applaud: - The capturing of an ISIS terrorist that masterminded the Abbey Gate attack
- A young boy fighting brain cancer
- A call to lower taxes for middle-class Americans
- Americans joining the military in record numbers
- Protecting women’s sports
- Cutting regulations to unleash American prosperity
- Defeating inflation
- Unleashing American energy
- Ending waste, fraud, and abuse in government
- Ending taxes on tips, overtime, and seniors’ Social Security
- Removing illegal alien killers, rapists, and drug dealers from our streets
- Securing our border
- Declaring the brutal Tren de Aragua gang as a Foreign Terrorist Organization
- Waging war on the deadly cartels trafficking deadly drugs into our country
- Punishing cop killers with the death penalty
