Rep. Allen Selected as Conferee for 2018 Farm Bill Conference Committee
Washington,
July 18, 2018
U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-Ga-12) issued the following statement after being selected to represent the House Education and Workforce Committee, one committee of jurisdiction, during the conference process on the farm bill. The House of Representatives passed the motion to go to conference on the 2018 Farm Bill today, and members of the House and Senate will soon hammer out any differences between the two prospective bills. “I am humbled to have been selected to represent the House Education and Workforce Committee during the conference process on the 2018 Farm Bill. After playing an integral role in the passage of the House version last month as a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in both chambers to eliminate any points of contention and bring commonsense solutions to the table,” said Congressman Allen. “During my travels through Georgia’s 12th district, I continue to hear that Congress must take action to address the economic hardships that have devastated rural America. This noteworthy step in the legislative process presents the opportunity for Congress to deliver certainty to our farming families across the nation and get America back to work. Rest assured, I will continue to stand firmly with rural America and keep Georgia priorities in mind as we work towards the ultimate goal of sending a bold and effective farm bill to the President’s desk for signature.” ### |
