President Trump Signs NDAA Into Law

Funding for Fort Gordon and SRS Included

U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-GA-12) issued the following statement after President Donald Trump signed the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law today. The NDAA is an annual piece of legislation that authorizes defense spending and sets priorities for the U.S. military.

President Trump today reaffirmed his commitment to our nation’s bravest when he signed the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act into law. This year’s NDAA provides a well-deserved pay raise to our troops, the largest in nearly a decade, contains big wins for Georgia’s 12th district, including critical funding for a Cyber Instructional Facility at Fort Gordon, and sets bold priorities for the safety of our nation. We have once again kept our promise to the American people and ensured that our nation’s military remains the strongest in the world.”

Today, President Trump signed legislation to: 

  • Provide a well-deserved 2.6% pay raise for our troops, the largest in 9 years
  • Authorize $99 million in military construction funds for a Cyber Instructional Facility at Fort Gordon
  • Extend special pay and bonuses for service members in high-demand fields
  • Authorize $17.7 billion to rehabilitate and replace outdated Army equipment
  • Authorize over $1.4 billion in funds for nuclear material management, environmental cleanup and construction at the Savannah River Site
