Rep. Rick Allen Visits Fort BelvoirDiscusses “Road to Gordon” with ARCYBER Leadership

U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen released the following statement after he visited Fort Belvoir today. Fort Belvoir currently houses portions of the U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) as they move their headquarters to Fort Gordon. Fort Gordon is also home to the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and plays a pivotal role in our nation’s cybersecurity efforts. “My visit today could not have come at a better time on the heels of the exciting Gate 6 groundbreaking ceremony at Fort Gordon last week,” said Congressman Allen. “This new gate symbolizes the growth we are seeing at Fort Gordon and the road ahead, and I was happy to meet with ARCYBER leadership on what we can do in the 12th district to prepare for the remaining elements still to come to Fort Gordon. We discussed many pressing issues to the cyber mission, including what it takes to recruit and retain the greatest talent to fight for our national security. As a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, this is a problem we are hearing across the board, and I remain committed to ensuring that we have skilled workers who are ready and capable to take on the jobs of today and tomorrow. With strategic Army, industry, academia and community partners, I am confident that Fort Gordon will become a hub of innovation and cyber development. I’d like to thank Fort Belvoir for welcoming me today, and I look forward to working once again with Major General Stephen Fogarty, and congratulate him on his confirmation as U.S. Army Cyber Command’s next leader.” ### |
