Rep. Allen Applauds President Trump’s Decision to Withdraw from Iran Deal

U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen released the following statement today after President Donald Trump announced that he will be terminating the United States’ participation in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran, better known as the Iran Deal, and re-imposing the sanctions previously lifted under the deal. “Today, President Trump made it clear to the American people that the United States will no longer tolerate non-compliance under the Obama-era Iran Deal. As a vocal opponent of this deal from the start, I am pleased with the President’s decision to withdraw from this poorly negotiated deal and re-impose sanctions. We could not continue down the path of inaction, putting the security of Americans and our allies at risk. As we move forward, I am eager to work with the Administration and our allies to establish a bold plan of action to address the destructive behavior of the Iranian regime and ensure that Iran has no possible path to a nuclear weapon.” ### |
