Allen Legislation to Rename Statesboro VA Clinic Passes in the House
Washington,
May 21, 2018
U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-Ga-12) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3946, legislation sponsored by Congressman Allen to rename the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) community-based outpatient clinic in Statesboro, Georgia, the “Ray Hendrix Veterans Clinic.” The bill was voted on this afternoon under a suspension of the rules and passed with unanimous support. “With today’s successful passage of H.R. 3946, renaming the Statesboro VA Clinic after Sergeant Major Ray Hendrix is one step closer to becoming reality. As a lifelong resident of Georgia’s 12th district and beloved veteran, I cannot think of a better or more deserving man to have his service to our nation and his community honored at the local VA Clinic he fought to establish in Statesboro. I’d like to thank all of my colleagues in the House of Representatives for joining me in supporting this legislation and I look forward to seeing this bill pass the Senate and signed into law. Sergeant Major Ray Hendrix’s legacy and dedication will live on with the quality care the Statesboro VA Clinic, soon to be the Ray Hendrix Veterans Clinic, will continue to provide to our nation’s bravest.” To view my remarks on the House floor, please CLICK HERE. |
