Allen: We Need Solutions that Work for America
Washington,
June 27, 2018
U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-Ga-12) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 6136, the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act, which failed in the House of Representatives today by a vote of 121-301. “I’ve said it before and I will say it again – I believe our immigration system is broken, but the legislation brought before the House today did not go far enough to address the significant issues we are facing at our borders,” said Congressman Allen. “Moving forward, we must come together to enact substantive changes to our immigration laws to end chain migration, reform our agricultural worker visa program, and transition to a merit-based immigration system. Simply put, we need solutions that work for America.” ### |
