Congressman Allen Announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition

Today, U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-Ga-12) announced the 2019 High School Congressional Art Competition. Each Spring, Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a nation-wide high school arts competition, better known as the “Artistic Discovery Competition.” This contest is open to all high school students (9th – 12th grade) in Georgia’s 12th district and provides an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent throughout the nation. The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, along with artwork from other congressional districts. “The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity to highlight the creativity and artistic talents of high school students in Georgia and across the country,” said Congressman Allen. “I look forward to seeing submissions from our young artists and the special ways they have chosen to highlight the 12th District of Georgia. I encourage all interested high school students to take part in this special tradition.” Submitted artwork must be original in concept, design, and execution and must depict a scene from the 12th District of Georgia. All artwork must be submitted between April 22nd – 24th at one of the following six drop-off locations:
