STATESBORO, GA—Today, Rep. Rick Allen (R-Ga.-12) hosted the 2016 Georgia-12 Youth Leadership Summit. Over 400 junior and senior high school students and educators from across the 12th district came to Georgia Southern University for a day of fun, learning and fellowship. Students heard from special guests: COL Sam Anderson, Garrison Commander at Ft. Gordon, Stephanie Miller, Y96 radio, Tyson Summers, Head Football Coach of Georgia Southern University and Congressman Tom Graves, representing the 14th District of Georgia.
“I was completely blown away by the turnout today,” stated Rep. Allen “Our district is so fortunate to have such bright students with a dedication to learning and a passion for leadership. It was evident that the young folks in Georgia-12 are an exceptional class of leaders who will step up to any occasion. This event was held to inspire our students as they gathered in a room among their peers and heard from leaders from all walks of life. I am excited by their energy and am so grateful to the educators who brought them. It was a wonderful day in Statesboro.”
