WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Rick Allen (R- Ga.-12), a member of the House Agriculture Committee, released the following reminder to Georgia-12 farmers regarding the Cotton Ginning Cost-Share Program announced by the USDA in early June: I want to share news from Washington regarding cotton production in Georgia’s 12th Congressional District. Eligible producers for the 2015 cotton crop year have been extended a Cotton Ginning Cost-Share program from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This one time program is based on a producer’s 2015 cotton acres reported to the Farm Service Agency (FSA) multiplied by 40 percent of the average ginning cost for our production region. The Cotton Ginning Cost-Share Program was announced by USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack in early June 2016 and the deadline to apply is August 5, 2016, the program is already open to applicants. Be sure to contact your local FSA county office or visit www.fsa.usda.gov/cgcs and have your paper work completed and submitted by the August 5, 2016 deadline.
