Rep. Allen Announces 2020 Congressional Art Competition Winners

Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) today announced the winning artwork submissions from high school students in Georgia’s 12th District for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. The first place winner’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, and all other winning pieces will be displayed in the offices of Congressman Allen.

“Congratulations to our winners and a special thank you to all of the talented students who entered this year’s competition,” said Congressman Allen. “It’s clear through the submissions we received that the 12th District is home to many creative students, and I’m glad we can help share some of their work by hosting this special tradition.”

First place:
“Harmony” by Fahriye Caliskan from Statesboro High School

Fahriye’s artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol for the next year!

First Runner Up:
“Crow” by Bailey Borck from Statesboro High School

Second Runner Up and People’s Choice Award: “Leo’s Adventure” by Abigail Burke from Lakeside High School

Third Runner Up: “16th Hole” by Loren O’Steen from Coffee High School
