Georgia Members Rebuke Ninth Circuit Court’s Decision on Farmers’ Use of Dicamba

Reps. Rick Allen (R-Ga.), Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Austin Scott (R-Ga.), Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.), Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.), and Jody Hice (R-Ga.) released the following statement after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that it is illegal for farmers to continue to use dicamba herbicides, which are used primarily by cotton and soybean farmers:

“Now more than ever when commodity prices are low and markets have been shuttered by COVID-19, our farmers need every tool in the shed to keep our country clothed and fed. The 9th Circuit Court's reckless decision to mandate that our soybean and cotton farmers halt the use of these herbicides – which they’ve already invested countless dollars in – is crippling our rural communities at a time when they can't afford to deal with more uncertainty. We encourage EPA to move quickly to appeal this decision as the livelihoods of our farmers hang in the balance.”
