Congressman Allen Announces Augusta Regional Airport Awarded Federal Funding

Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) announced that Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field has been awarded $8.3 million in federal funding through both the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant program and the CARES Act.

“As the Augusta area has grown over the last several years thanks to our military, cyber and pro-business environment, so has the need to grow and improve Augusta Regional Airport,” said Congressman Allen. “While we’ve made significant progress, the aviation industry has felt the impact of COVID-19. That’s why I’m pleased to see Augusta Regional Airport secure these critical funds so they can continue working on improvement projects and serving travelers throughout the region.”

“We are pleased with the announcement of these Federal Airport Improvement Program Grants and CARES ACT funding,” said Herbert Judon, Jr., Executive Director of Augusta Regional Airport. “These funds will assist us with the continuation of our capital improvement program and the overall advancement of the Airport. Despite the adverse COVID-19 impacts to Aviation, the Augusta Regional Airport continues to aggressively and strategically pursue various infrastructure projects that will diversify our enterprise and position the Airport for future success.”
