Yesterday, the United States District Court for South Carolina ordered in favor of the State of South Carolina and the City of Augusta in the case against the Savannah District Army Corps of Engineers regarding their proposed plan to remove the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam and move forward with a rock weir that would not maintain the current pool of water. Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) today released the following statement:

"This ruling states what I've been saying all along: Maintaining the pool means adhering to the pool level on the date of the WIIN Act's enactment -- 114.5 ft. Our Congressional delegation and local leaders have worked tirelessly on this issue and I am very encouraged by this news. I look forward to continue working toward a solution that is best for our community."
