Rep. Allen Statement on Supreme Court Decision in Biden v. Texas Case

Says Biden administration’s policies are “a slap in the face” of law enforcement

Washington – Today, Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) released the following statement after the United States Supreme Court issued a majority opinion in favor of the defendant in the case of Biden v. Texas:

“This administration’s open-border policies have left us with an undeniable crisis at our southern border. By reversing the effective policies established by the Trump administration, President Biden has severely limited federal law enforcement’s ability to secure our border and protect American citizens.

“Ending the Remain in Mexico policy will only worsen the historic surge of illegal immigration we are seeing now. Should the administration proceed with its efforts to end this policy and eliminate Title 42, it would be a slap in the face to the men and women of law enforcement who are working every day to keep our country safe. I implore the president to reverse course and take action to secure the border.”

Background:

On October 13, 2021, Congressman Allen led over 40 of his House colleagues in sending a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, urging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to keep in place the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), also known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
