Allen’s spending cut amendments cut from ‘minibus’ bill

U.S. Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA-12) had a plan to cut government spending. And he recently took to the House Floor to introduce three amendments that he said would cut spending by five percent in the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Department of Interior and Environment, and Financial Services and General Government divisions of the Democrats’ ‘minibus’ spending package, H.R. 8294.

However, Allen’s amendments were included in a broader package of amendments, which failed to be included in the legislation by a vote of 199-229.
