House GOP member pushes Small Business Boost Bill

(Washington, D.C.) -- A Republican lawmaker is pushing a new bill aimed at boosting startup companies and small businesses across the nation.

On Tuesday, House Representative Rick Allen of Georgia introduced the Startup Act, which aims to expand access to training programs and resources for entrepreneurs.

Allen says the legislation will lead to more jobs, grow the economy and help current and future entrepreneurs "realize the American Dream."

The SBA says small businesses in the U.S. comprised nearly half of all private sector employees as of 2017.
