Rep. Allen statement on Democrats’ omnibus spending package

Today, Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 2617, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. “Under Democrat rule, Washington has pushed out-of-control spending, which has contributed to historic inflation that is hurting every American. Scrapping regular order, Democrats pushed a 4,000+ page bill totaling almost $2 trillion. The American people are rightfully fed up with this reckless, big government spending coming out of Washington that has sent shockwaves across our entire economy. This bloated spending package fails to address many of the pressing issues our nation is facing and is instead chocked full of increased funding for the IRS, Green New Deal initiatives, and unrelated policy provisions. We must stay committed to restoring fiscal responsibility and stop increasing the financial burden on future generations.” # # # |
