The revelations about President Joe Biden's hidden classified documents, as well as a special counsel already having been assigned to investigate the case, mean "poetic justice," Rep. Rick Allen said on Newsmax Saturday. "They make this big deal over President [Donald] Trump, who has the authority to declassify documents. Then, all of a sudden, we find out that even before the midterms it was discovered that President Biden had these documents," the Georgia Republican told Newsmax's "Saturday Report." He added that while Trump had the documents in his possession locked in a secure, padlocked room, Biden "had this stuff all over the place," including in a garage at his property in Delaware. "You can't make this stuff up," Allen continued. "It's obvious that they're after President Trump and they've been after him. They don't want him to run again, so they're trying to throw something against the wall and hope that it sticks." The first tranche of classified documents in Biden's case was found on Nov. 2, just days before the midterm election, but wasn't reported until last week. Allen said such things are "typical" for Democrats. "It's like the bills they passed in the lame duck [session]: the omnibus and all those bills," he said. "They did not want to touch those until after the midterms because they knew it would damage them even more than we were able to damage them." And with the documents, "it's a coordinated effort" between the Department of Justice and the FBI that has continued, but to a "different standard," said Allen. "I didn't realize that Joe Biden had a think tank. And apparently he's being paid an — and [his] family members are being paid — an enormous salary," he said. "This didn't come up during the election, so you know this thing is a coordinated effort. It's typical. We're used to it, and it needs to stop." Meanwhile, the first full-week session of the House under a Republican majority has resulted in investigations beginning on several fronts, including the Biden documents and matters concerning the president's son, Hunter. Allen said that is because, for two years, the administration has not been held accountable for its actions. "It's been a runaway train up there and in that administration ... things that are, you know, just devastating our economy," said Allen. "For example, we went through the congressional review process when we won the House, the White House, and the Senate in 2016; and we unleashed energy. We saw what it did. It created the greatest economy in our lifetime. What did President Biden do the first week in office? He went through every one of those executive orders and rescinded every one of them, which is when we saw inflation. ... They keep pouring money into the economy, which is keeping people from working." The border situation under Biden has also been devastating, including having resulted in the amount of fentanyl pouring into the country and killing thousands, said Allen, adding that the "American people need to demand that this nonsense stop." |
