President Biden Vetoes Bipartisan Resolution to Halt Student Loan Bailout

Yesterday, President Biden vetoed H. J. Res. 45, a bipartisan resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act which would have blocked the administration’s reckless student loan transfer scheme. Congressman Allen issued the following statement in response:

“President Biden has once again gone against the will of the American people by vetoing H. J. Res. 45. Our democracy is built on a system of checks and balances, and President Biden’s refusal to accept the House and Senate’s bipartisan rejection of his massive student loan bailout flies in the face of a representative government. Americans shouldn’t be forced to foot the bill for loans they didn’t borrow; however, this administration is hellbent on making this an unfortunate reality that will cost taxpayers billions.”
