Allen Reacts to NLRB's Final Joint-Employer Standard

Today, Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) issued the following statement after the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) finalized an expanded joint-employer standard that threatens the franchise model and negatively impacts the U.S. economy, workers, and small businesses:

"President Biden's radical NLRB appointees are circumventing Congress to reimpose a broad joint-employer standard that threatens the flexibility of business owners and upends the franchise model as we know it. Having started my own business, I know all too well how additional hurdles and barriers to entrepreneurship can stifle innovation. At a time when workers and families are struggling to keep up with the inflationary reality of 'Bidenomics,' it is appalling that this administration is now saddling entrepreneurs with further roadblocks to achieving the American Dream.

"With each passing day, it becomes more critical for Congress to pass my Employee Rights Act, which would provide much-needed clarity in determining joint-employer status and prevent franchise owners from becoming corporate middle-managers. American workers and small business owners want and deserve freedom and certainty, not more onerous and unworkable rulemakings."
