Tonight, Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) issued the statement below following President-Elect Donald Trump's announcement that he will nominate former Congressman Doug Collins to serve as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):
"Robin and I send our sincerest congratulations to Doug and his entire family for this well-deserved nomination to serve in President Trump's Cabinet as the Secretary of the VA. Having served alongside Doug in Congress for many years, I have witnessed firsthand his commitment to fighting for those who have served this country in uniform, as he did. Our veterans and military families deserve the best after their selfless service and they could not ask for a better advocate in Washington. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to move expeditiously with the confirmation process."
