Allen Statement on Executive Order to End Federal Overreach in Education
Washington,
April 26, 2017
WASHINGTON—U.S. Rep. Rick W. Allen (R-GA-12) issued the following statement in response to the President’s executive order to end federal overreach in our education system: “As a proud member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, I applaud President Trump on the signing of today’s executive order to ensure local leaders are free to make educational decisions. This executive order builds upon the principles set forth by a bill I championed, the Every Student Succeeds Act, which was signed into law in the last Congress. I believe that parents, local leaders and teachers know best and this executive order is another step closer to keeping Washington out of our Georgia classrooms.”
