Allen Praises Trump on Timely Federal Emergency Declaration

President Trump issued an emergency declaration in Georgia today. This currently includes fourteen counties in Georgia’s 12th Congressional district, including: Appling, Bulloch, Burke, Camden, Candler, Coffee, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Jeff Davis, Screven, Tattnall, Toombs, and Treutlen counties.

With this designation, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is authorized to provide federal resources, including direct Federal assistance. Congressman Rick Allen (R-GA-12) issued the following statement:

“I thank the Federal Emergency Management Agency and President Trump for issuing an Emergency Declaration for counties in my district and throughout Southeast Georgia in a timely manner. I am proud that our President is taking these hurricanes seriously, and I believe his actions will save lives. Having this designation will aid our families and businesses in rebuilding after any damage from Hurricane Irma.”
