Allen Supports Building a Better America Budget

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget today. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-GA-12) released the following statement in response to passage of the Building a Better America budget:

“In the real world, if you don’t balance your budget, you go out of business. Our country has been heading down a dangerous path for the past decade—but we can make a change to get back on track for future generations.

“That’s why I was proud to vote for the House Budget Committee’s budget that balances within 10 years, provides for the National defense, and cuts more than $200 billion in mandatory spending. Not only will this budget put us on a sustainable spending path, but it paves the way for tax reform.

“Tax reform affects everyone, and millions of Americans are looking to Congress to fix our broken tax code. The passage of the FY 18 budget unlocks pro-growth tax reform, which will put money back in the pockets of hardworking Americans and make our tax code simple, affordable and competitive.”
