Donald J. Trump Inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States
|
It was an honor to witness 45 become 47 today as President Trump once again took the oath of office. After four years under the Biden Administration, we have officially turned the page on weak and ineffective leadership and will begin ushering in our America First agenda.
During his speech, President Trump outlined his vision to unite our country and deliver on the mandate given to us by the American people. With our House and Senate Republican majorities, I am ready to once again get to work under the Trump Administration to deliver on our promise of restoring greatness in America. I am excited about what the future holds and do not take the task ahead of us lightly.

Serving as Chairman of the H.E.L.P Subcommittee
|
I was honored to be selected by my colleagues to serve as the Chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee's Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions for the 119th Congress.
With forty years of experience building and operating a small business, I am well-aware of how federal policies impact the livelihoods of job creators and workers alike. During President Trump's first term in office, we built the strongest economy in my lifetime, and we can do so again. I look forward to bringing my business experience to this critical role as we hit the ground running.

House Republicans are Committed to Protecting Women's Sports
|
According to a Gallup poll, nearly 70% of Americans believe we should protect women's sports. House Republicans passed H.R. 28, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which ensures female athletes ONLY compete with biological females.
As a cosponsor of this legislation, I am proud that our effort to protect every female's pathway to athletic prowess, excellence, and opportunity passed the House, however, nearly every House Democrat opposed the bill on the House floor.

Standing Up for Women Against Criminal Illegal Immigrants
|
Time and time again, we see shocking headlines about illegal immigrants committing atrocious crimes against Americans. In particular, many of these headlines reference violence against women and girls at the hands of these criminal illegal immigrants – all of whom should never have been allowed into this country in the first place.
That's why House Republicans also passed H.R. 30, the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, which makes illegal immigrants with any history of committing sex offenses or domestic violence inadmissible and deportable from the United States.
Under the Trump Administration, we will put an end to the chaos that has unfolded at our borders over the last four years.

Introducing Legislation to Curb AI-Generated Robocalls
|
Far too many Americans have fallen victim to the emerging threat of AI-generated robocalls, particularly our seniors. I recently reintroduced the Creating Legal and Ethical AI Recordings (CLEAR) Voices Act, which would amend the Communications Act of 1934 to establish technical and procedural standards for artificial or prerecorded voice systems created through generative artificial intelligence (genAI).
If we fail to update existing laws and regulations to keep pace with technological advancements, 21st-century consumers will continue to face these threats, leading to potential fraud or privacy invasions. The CLEAR Voices Act is a commonsense approach to crack down on this malign practice, maintain public trust, and protect hardworking Americans. As the Vice Chair of the Communications and Technology Subcommittee, I look forward to leading on these issues in the 119th Congress.
|
Every life is a gift from God. I was honored to earn an A+ on the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America National Pro-Life Scorecard for the 118th Congress. I will always fight for the most vulnerable among us and the fundamental right to life.

This Week's Office Visitors
|
I enjoyed welcoming Columbia County District 4 Commissioner, Alison Couch, to D.C. to discuss the importance of extending President Trump's tax cuts for working families.
Commissioner Couch also testified in front of the Ways and Means Committee about the need to make these cuts permanent to avoid harmful tax hikes on our small businesses. Thank you for your service!
